The FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, has expressed his dissatisfaction with the slow pace of work on the new Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal complex.
Abuja Metro reports that the project, located in Dakibiyu, Jabi District, has a scheduled completion date of September 2025.
After inspecting both the Appeal Court complex and the Judges’ Quarters in Katampe District, Wike briefed journalists, expressing doubt that the project will be completed in time for the Court of Appeal’s 2025 legal year celebration.
“I’m afraid; I’m really not too satisfied. I don’t think that the contractor will meet up,” Wike said after touring the site.
He noted a prior commitment to the Court of Appeal that the new facility would be ready in time for their legal year.
Despite his concern, the minister stated his confidence that the project would still be completed and handed over to the Court of Appeal before the end of the year.
To ensure this, he has summoned the contractor for an urgent meeting to strategize on how to accelerate the pace of work.
